Stockholm death metal band Mutation release their debut full-length, Esoteric Order of Debauchery, on October 9, 2026 through Hells Headbangers Records on CD, vinyl LP and cassette.
Mutation began around 2019 as an idea between drummer S.N and guitarist K.L, built around a shared interest in the earliest and rawest forms of death metal. Vocalist N.S, guitarist S.Q and bassist S.B joined in 2022, completing the lineup that would record Demo ’23. The demo introduced the band’s primitive approach and eventually brought them to the attention of Hells Headbangers following a recommendation from Gene Palubicki of Perdition Temple.
Esoteric Order of Debauchery carries that foundation into the band’s first album through raw riffing, relentless drumming, abrasive vocals and deliberately unpolished atmosphere. The material draws from the formative years of death metal, favoring short, violent attacks and instinctive aggression over modern refinement.
Rather than attempting to update the style, Mutation push further into its primitive roots, presenting a debut centered on speed, abrasion and the dangerous energy associated with death metal’s earliest manifestations.
